On May 3, our NGO «Veterans' Hut» signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Center for Veteran Development of KNU named after. Taras Shevchenko. So soon even more soldiers who defended Ukraine will be able to sit down behind the student bench. Not only veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war, but also members of their families will be able to get a psychologist's education.
Friends, let's remind you what our project does!
We implement a program of psychological recovery, repurposing and obtaining higher education in the field of psychology for veterans and their families. Participants of the «Veterans' Hut» study for a master's degree at Kyiv National University named after. Taras Shevchenko. After completing the training, apply the acquired knowledge in practice — provide psychological support to other veterans and help them integrate into civilian life.
«Own to own» — is the main idea of our project! We believe that only a psychologist who has combat experience can truly understand another soldier and provide him with psychological help.
The project program is designed not only for veterans, but also for their family members, says Serhiy Bolshoi, director of NGO «Veterans' Hut»:«Wives, mothers, sisters, brides of veterans or women who have had a significant traumatic war experience can join our program.»On May 9, the third wave of «Veterans’ Hut» starts. Participants of the first wave are already studying for a master's degree at KNU named after. Taras Shevchenko, and the participants of the second — are actively preparing for admission. Both groups will participate in the third wave program as interns and help veterans and their families undergo psychological rehabilitation.
We sincerely thank our partner — KNU named after. Taras Shevchenko for the fact that together we can take care of those who protect us and help vetarans and their families recover
«I hope that our cooperation with the public organization «Veterans' Hut» will allow us to better understand and feel the needs of veterans in order to support them as much as possible. Our university will make maximum efforts to implement a project aimed at the psychological recovery of veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and their families.» — says Larisa Sokhatyuk, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work of KNU named after. Taras Shevchenko.
The «Veterans’ Hut» project is implemented with the support of the Kyiv Regional Employment Center, the Kyiv City Employment Center and in partnership with the Center for Veteran's Development, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University
